Worship at Temple Sinai

At Temple Sinai, our services are more than just scheduled gatherings—they are opportunities to connect with a living tradition, celebrate community, and find personal renewal in the rhythm of our shared faith. Whether you join us in person or via our online streaming, each service is designed to invite you into an experience that is warm, thoughtful, and meaningful.

Regular Worship Offerings

We invite you to become part of our vibrant community by attending any of our Shabbat, Festival, or weekday worship services. While you can easily access our weekly schedule and streaming links through our calendar page, the following guide offers a brief description of the offerings in our community. At Temple Sinai, every service is an invitation—to reflect, to celebrate, and to find strength in the enduring traditions of our faith. We look forward to welcoming you into these sacred spaces, whether in the sanctuary or online.

Shabbat Evening Service

Fridays, 6:30 – 7:40 pm

We strive to foster a warm and comfortable worship experience with which to begin a genuine Shabbat shalom, a Shabbat filled with peace. Led by our clergy team, Sinai Shabbat evening services include a blend of Hebrew and English liturgy as well as a sermon or message meant to inspire reflection on matters of the spirit or significant issues of the day. Music also plays a significant role in our Shabbat worship and services are accompanied by either a guitar or our ensemble of professional musicians each week.

Shabbat Morning Service

Saturdays, 10:00 – 11:00 am

This service presents the traditional Shabbat morning liturgy in a more contemporary light. Guided by our rabbis, the service incorporates both Hebrew and English readings and commentary, ensuring that newcomers and regular participants will appreciate the rhythm and flow of the prayers. And, has been done for millennia, the service also features the reading of Torah as well as a brief lesson on the weekly portion.

B'nei Mitzvah Holding Torah

B’nei Mitzvah Service

Most Saturdays, 10:30 am – 12:15 pm and/or 5:00 – 6:15 pm

Taking place in our main Sanctuary, this service features the customs associated with the coming-of-age milestone in Jewish tradition. The service is co-led by our 12 or 13-year-old Bar/Bat Mitzvah students and members of our clergy team. In addition to helping to lead their community in prayer and chanting verses from the weekly Torah portion (and Haftarah portion on Shabbat morning), students also deliver a message in which they lend their own voice and interpretations to the ancient words of our tradition. (At times, B’nei Mitzvah services are held on certain weekdays in order to best suit your family’s needs.)

Rabbi Ron at Tot Shabbat

Tot Shabbat

One Friday each Month, 5:15 – 5:45 pm

A joyful, interactive service for our littlest members and their families, Tot Shabbat is filled with song, storytelling, and dancing, serving as a playful yet meaningful introduction to communal celebrations of Shabbat. Accompanying the traditional Shabbat evening blessings over candles, wine (grape juice) and challah, the rabbi introduces prayers and songs in a manner that resonates with both children and adults.

Family T'filah

Family Shabbat Service

Occasional Fridays, 5:45 – 6:15 pm

Bring the whole family to a Shabbat experience designed especially for those with elementary-aged children. While Family Shabbat services include most of the liturgy found in a standard service, the prayers are presented in an informal, age-appropriate, and engaging manner intended to foster both comfort and familiarity with services. Family Shabbat services also provide a meaningful and memorable setting in which to connect with fellow Sinai members.

Morning Minyan Group

Morning Minyan

Wednesdays, 8:00 – 8:35 am

Our weekly morning minyan offers a more traditional, spiritually uplifting opportunity for worship each Wednesday morning. Although the service is led mostly in Hebrew and incorporates liturgical melodies fitting for weekdays, attendees – both in-person and virtual – quickly gain comfort and familiarity with the rhythm of the service. The Wednesday minyan also provides a meaningful and supportive community for mourners to recite Kaddish for a loved one.
