High Holy Day Choir
Join our High Holy Day choir, the crown jewel of our Holy Day worship experience. We rehearse for 8 weeks prior to the Holy Days.
Or, for an easier commitment and a less formal choir experience, consider singing in High Holiday Reconsidered Choir, teen singers (post B’nai Mitzvah) are also welcome.
Drop-in Choir
For a more casual commitment, try singing in our Drop-In choir. These occur once-per-month and only require one Wednesday night rehearsal to sing at that week’s Shabbat Reconsidered service. Come to as many as you’d like. Email Beth Schafer so she can have music ready for you!
Coffee House
If you want to be showcased as a performer in any genre, throughout the year we turn our lobby or Social Hall into a coffee house, where our members perform a brief set for adoring friends and family. Whether you sing, play an instrument, do magic tricks or are a gifted storyteller or poet, the stage is yours! Check temple emails and mailers for upcoming dates.
NEW Circle Singing
Sing for the joy of singing! This gathering will introduce you to a beautiful repertoire of Jewish music that lends itself to lots of harmonies, both written and spontaneous. There is a special feeling you get when your voice is part of a sea of voices that create something bigger than any solo voice could on its own. You do not need to read music to take part. Nava Tehilah: October 24, 2026
Temple Sinai is thrilled to welcome Nava Tehliah for a very special evening of music and connection. Based in Jerusalem, with musicians now living and creating around the globe, the Nava Tehilah band has created some of the most beloved contemporary Jewish spiritual music of our time. Their melodies are woven regularly into our worship at Temple Sinai, helping us bring ancient words to life with Israeli flair, beauty, depth, and joy. Their music invites us not simply to listen, but to sing, pray, and experience community together.

Texas-born and river-raised, Joe Buchanan makes country music that is steeped in Torah. Grounded in the idea that there is always room at the table, Joe’s music highlights the values, Torah, and history of the Jewish people to deliver stories steeped in the struggle and triumph of the human spirit, all while praising Gd for the goodness in life. Join us for a weekend of music.

Meet Beth Schafer
Beth Schafer joined Temple Sinai July 1, 2015 as our Bunzl Family Cantorial Chair. She has been a musical presence for the Union of Reform Judaism since 1999, both as a headlining performer and celebrated composer and recording artist. At Temple Sinai, she blends her love of creating and producing music, with her love of creating musical experiences that are both welcoming and moving, and keep in step with the sounds that are shaping American Judaism today.
