The Most Important Election You Have Never Heard Of!

The next chapter of Israeli and Jewish history is about to unfold.  Your vote directly impacts resources and funding for Reform synagogues, rabbis, and advocacy. Help shape the Israel we all want and deserve.

The World Zionist Congress elections, which take place from March 10 to May 4, 2025, are a crucial opportunity for us to advocate for our values in Israel—values like democracy, pluralism, LGBTQ+ and women’s rights, a path to peace, and a future where Reform Jews can continue to feel safe and welcome. It is our one chance to cast a vote that impacts policy and budget in the Jewish state. More is at stake than ever. Our ultraorthodox opponents are busy organizing to defund our movement in Israel and chip away at all our progress. Please vote for "Vote Reform" in the election through the button below.

FAQs

WHAT IS THE WORLD ZIONIST CONGRESS (WZC)?

  • The WZC is a democratically elected international body that helps decide the direction of Israel and World Jewry. It is essentially the “Parliament of the Jewish People.” It meets every 5 years. Every 5 years we all have a chance to vote our values!
  • The WZC is an important, institutional way for Reform voices and Reform values to have a real and impactful say in how Israel spends its money and treats its people. It is a right and a responsibility for Diaspora Jews to vote in this election.
  • It builds power by gaining influence over 5 billion dollars and 13% of the property in the land of Israel. The more votes = the more delegates = the more power!

WHAT’S AT STAKE?

Our opponents in the WZC campaign are highly motivated religious fundamentalists whose vision for the future of Israel is diametrically opposed to ours. They are organizing to destroy what we value, including:

  • Chipping away at Israel’s democracy
  • Rolling back gains for gender equity, LGBTQ+ rights, and religious pluralism
  • Stripping our Israeli Reform clergy – especially our women rabbis – and our Reform communities of their rights, funding, and infrastructure
  • Making sure that our converts and children are not welcome in the Jewish state
  • Expanding settlements and blocking any hope of Palestinian self-determination and safety
  • Their vision writes Reform Jews out of the next chapter of Jewish history and will make Jews in Israel and around the world less safe.
