Sinai Family Shelter
Sinai Family Shelter Host Week Sunday, October 27-Sunday, November 3 We provide temporary housing for families experiencing homelessness through Family Promise of North Fulton/DeKalb various weeks throughout the year. Come together and directly impact the lives of others through our Sinai Family Shelter! Temple Sinai provides the facilities but we need your help with dinner, miscellaneous supplies, overnight hosting, Saturday day hosting, assisting the families with move in and move out, and laundry. Teens in grades 9-12 can volunteer to play with the kids and help with homework.

Israel Discussion & Volunteer Opportunities Tuesday, October 29, 7:00 pm Join Rabbi Brad Levenberg and the Amiyut (Israel & Peoplehood) Task Force for this session on Israel along with a discussion of the various volunteer opportunities available. Many of our congregants have been this past year to lend a hand to the growing needs. Whether volunteering for the IDF or working in agricultural fields, there are many opportunities available. Others have volunteered remotely teaching English via zoom. Over a glass of wine and cheese, come and learn about some of the many possibilities to help our Jewish homeland.
Take our monthly challenge and make being green part of being Jewish! For the month of October our topic is Eco-Friendly Sukkot. While many Jewish holidays have elements that align with eco-friendly practices, Sukkot arguably has the strongest connection to nature and sustainable living. Backpack Buddies Wednesdays, 10:00 am Let's help feed some deserving students at Powers Ferry Elementary! Backpack Buddies packs and delivers bags of food for kids to bring home every Friday to ensure they have meals and snacks over the weekend.
Community Assistance Center Food Pantries Share a few hours of your time in the CAC's food pantries. We have three opportunities each month to help. Assist two Mondays at the South Sandy Springs Food Pantry and volunteer at the main Food Pantry & Thrift Store every third Saturday.

We are very proud to have been featured in this Atlanta Jewish Times articlefor NAVON's educational lunch and learn “Understanding the Rainbow: Exploring the Changing World of Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation.” The program was an open conversation designed to promote greater understanding and acceptance of all people and included a review of the changing terminology around gender and sexual diversity, explaining the difference between gender roles and sexual orientation.
