Social Action Programs
Community Assistance Center (CAC) Night of Hope at Jersey Boys Tuesday, July 16 5:30 pm Dinner at Sinai 7:30 pm Show at City Springs City Springs Theatre has dedicated its July 16performance of Jersey Boys as the CAC Night of Hope. The CAC will have the entire Byers Theatre and receive 20% of the proceeds from ticket sales. A reception will follow. Use password CACHOPE (all caps) when purchasing your tickets.
Those attending are invited to join us at Sinai before the showfor a fun dinner. Registration is required. Cost is $12 per person.
Monthly Food Pantries Share a few hours of your time in the CAC's food pantries. We have two opportunities each month to help. Assist every first Monday of the month at the South Sandy Springs Food Pantry and volunteer at the main Food Pantry & Thrift Store every third Saturday.

Zaban Paradies Center The Zaban Paradies Center assists couples transitioning from homelessness to resettlement and independence by providing shelter, basic necessities and counseling services. The shelter provides a hot meal every evening every day. Volunteers are needed to provide the meal, along with 4 servers on Tuesday, June 26 at 6:00 pm.

Recalling the prophet Jeremiah, who wrote during the exile in Babylonia that we are to engage deeply in the communities in which we find ourselves (Jeremiah 29:7), Temple Sinai maintains a strong commitment to civic engagement and voting.
Participating in a non-partisan program through the GA Secretary of State’s office, these efforts aim to increase voter participation through increasing voter registration.
Join together with members of the Sinai community and beyond tobecome state-certified Deputy Registrars who will participate actively in voter registration events locally and throughout Metro-Atlanta.
Film Screening of Mama Bears in Partnership with Holy Innocents Episcopal Church Tuesday, June 25, 6:30 pm Join us for a screening of the documentary Mama Bearsby filmmaker Daresha Kyi. Follow the stories of moms of LGBTQIA+ kids who overcome their conservative backgrounds and communities to become fierce advocates for their children. The evening will be hosted by Bunzl Family Cantorial Chair Beth Schafer and Rev. Stewart Lucas of Holy Innocents Episcopal Church who will share some of their stories about being gay clergy. We will also hear from the filmmaker Daresha about her experience making the film. Light dinner will be served.
Sinai Family Shelter Host Week Sunday, August 25-Sunday, September 1 We provide temporary housing for families experiencing homelessness through Family Promise of North Fulton/DeKalb various weeks throughout the year. Come together and directly impact the lives of others through our Sinai Family Shelter! We need your assistance with dinner, miscellaneous supplies, overnight hosting, Saturday day hosting, helping the families move in and move out, and laundry.
