We have lots of meaningful ways you can get involved at Sinai and beyond. See below for what's going on and how you can make a difference.
Shomrei Adamah: Environmental Awareness
It's a new month of our 2024 Eco Challengehosted by the Temple Sinai Shomrei Adamah: Environmental Awareness Committee.
Our April Challenge focuses on Earth Day.Earth Day aligns with Jewish principles in several ways, particularly concerning environmental stewardship, social justice, and the concept of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world). In Jewish tradition, there is a strong emphasis on the responsibility of humans to care for the Earth and its resources, based on the belief that the Earth is a gift from God and must be protected and preserved for future generations.
How can you participate? Sinai has purchased bookmarks made of recycled post-consumer paper pulp filled with non-GMO wildflower seeds. The flowers will help our bee population and add beauty to your home as well as help the environment. Pick them up during our special Shabbat Service Focused on Earth Day on Friday, April 19 or from the front desk and enjoy the flowers!
Complete one or more action items and download our certificate of completion to become one step closer to being a Shomrei Adamah - Guardian of the Earth!
