Over a distinguished 50-year career, Steinman has worked in a variety of artistic mediums and is widely recognized as both a sculptor and fine art photographer. His monumental public sculptures have become landmarks throughout Atlanta, including Endless Journey at the Buckhead MARTA station. Spanning the length of nearly two football fields, the installation took five years to complete. He also created the Monument to Slain Police Officers in Atlanta’s Woodruff Park.
As a fine art photographer, Steinman creates lyrical, thought-provoking images that explore both urban and rural landscapes, revealing the beauty and character of the world around us.
Steinman’s work has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States and internationally, including the Museum of Contemporary Art Georgia, the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art, the Hunter Museum of American Art (Chattanooga, Tennessee), the Chattahoochee Valley Art Museum (LaGrange, Georgia), the 14 Sculptors Gallery (New York City), the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art (Winston-Salem, North Carolina), the West Broadway Gallery in New York City’s SoHo district, the Nexus Contemporary Art Center (Atlanta), the Brooklyn Museum (New York), the Elvehjem Museum (Madison, Wisconsin), the American Cultural Center (New Delhi, India), and the Centro Cultural in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
