There is no Noar session this week. We look forward to having your kids back with us on Sunday, November 17th for Camp Fair. Parents are invited to drop in from 12:30-2:00pm for an opportunity to learn more about the Jewish camping experiences, day camps and overnight camps, attended by many Atlanta area children.
Please continue reading the letter below from one of our Camp Jenny co-chairs and Noar Senior Madrich, Josh Markwood. We encourage you to donate food items listed below, by age group, during our next Noar session.
B'shalom, Shanna
Hey everyone!
I'm Joshua Markwood, the 2024-25 Senior Camp Jenny Chair for Temple Sinai H.U.B., and I wanted to enlighten you all about the wonder of Camp Jenny. This year’s Camp Jenny theme is "Inside Out," and I’m thrilled to share that this will be my third Camp Jenny! Camp Jenny is an amazing service opportunity over Memorial Day weekend where teens plan and run a camp for kids from Atlanta at Camp Coleman.
Camp Jenny is a special project by NFTY’s Southern Area and Southern Tropical Regions, providing children from an urban school in Atlanta with year-round support, culminating in a 4-day camp experience at URJ’s Camp Coleman over Memorial Day Weekend. The children receive the love of big “brothers and sisters,” three nutritious meals a day, and encouragement for their future. They also enjoy activities such as hiking, water play, ziplining, arts and crafts, sports, and team-building exercises.
This November, Temple Sinai is hosting a food drive to support Camp Jenny. We are collecting non-perishable food items such as ramen noodle cups, applesauce, peanut butter crackers, and more to ensure the campers have access to meals and snacks throughout the school year. Your contributions will help make a significant difference in the lives of these children. More specifics for how you can contribute to the food drive will be shared shortly.
For more information on how you can support Camp Jenny, please visit the Camp Jenny website and the Camp Jenny Volunteer/Application page for more details. We are always thankful for your continued support in all the ways that you contribute to making Camp Jenny such an incredible place.
Looking forward to the best Camp Jenny ever, Joshua Markwood
