We also hope to see many of you at one of the services for Yom Kippur this weekend. Children’s programming is available to children ages 2-1st grade on Yom Kippur during the morning service with pre-registration, Take a Break Space (see timing and additional details below) allows children in grades 2-5 to take a short break from the main service and participate in structured activities, and the Reconsidered Service offers a shorter, family friendly opportunity to pray together as a family onYom Kippur afternoon.
This Yom Kippur, Temple Sinai has the opportunity to do the mitzvah of hachnasat orchim (hosting guests) as we welcome families displaced by the hurricane. Our halls and worship spaces will be busy, and we ask that children either remain with parents in the main service or spend a few minutes in the Take a Break Space.
There will be no Noar Sunday this week. We look forward to seeing you again on October 20th.

Kindergarten Consecration Dinner & Service Friday, October 25, 5:00 pm Consecration is the Jewish lifecycle event that formally marks the start of a child’s Jewish education. All kindergarten students in Jewish Day School and Noar Sunday are included in this special celebration. Guests welcome. Cost is $18 per person for individuals ages 13+, children ages 3-13 are $12 and children under 3 are free. 5:00 pm Dinner, photos, and workshop 5:45 pm Ceremony in Sanctuary 6:15 pm Dessert and play on the Mercaz (playground)
Family and Tot Shabbat & Pizza in the Hut Friday, October 18, 5:15 pm Celebrate Sukkot with a family-focused Shabbat followed by the best pizza party of the year: Pizza in the Hut! We'll have hands-on activities and lots of time to play on the Mercaz (playground) to enjoy this harvest holiday. Cost is $10 per person for individuals ages 16+, $5 for ages 3-15 and children under 2 are free.
We Will Dance Again: Simchat Torah Celebration Wednesday, October 23, 6:00 pm This year Simchat Torah is weighing heavily on many of our hearts and minds, but we will dance again. Come help us roll out the Torah, enjoy cocktails & mocktails with the clergy and a delicious dinner before we take to the dance floor to learn some favorite Israeli dances. This event is open to all ages so bring your friends and loved ones. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for kids 4-17, and free for kids 3 and under.
6th Grade Chattanooga Retreat Saturday, November 2-Sunday, November 3 Get ready for a jam-packed trip to Chattanooga! Club 23 Festival of Wax Sunday, November 3, 12:30 pm-1:45 pm Get into the Chanukah spirit with a wax festival! Join your Temple Sinai 2nd and 3rd grade friends for pizza and all things wax—wax art, lip balm making, and your very own wax hand. Drop off is in the Social Hall, and pick up is in the carpool line in the back parking lot. Noar Sunday students will be brought from their classroom to the event. Cost is $25 per child.
SCRAPPY (K-1) Black Light Party Sunday, November 17, 12:30 pm-1:45 pm Ready, set, glow! Join your Temple Sinai Kindergarten and 1st grade friends at the SCRAPPY Black Light Party. After a pizza lunch, play black light bowling, have fun with reflective model magic, and choose a face paint design that will glow. Remember to wear a white shirt so you can glow, too!
