We are excited to have a Noar session this week. This year is a Leap Year on both the secular and Jewish calendars. This means that there are two months of Adar in the Jewish calendar. It also means that there is time between holidays to focus on other Jewish concepts. This week, many classes will think about Tikkun Olam, repairing the world. You can ask your children what they think they can contribute to making the world a better place.
PURIMagination will be taking place at Temple Sinai on March 17th, 11:00am–1:00pm. There will be many activities perfect for children of Noar age including carnival games, the sand art cart, ice cream truck, 360 photo booth, cotton candy, obstacle course, and jumpies. We would love to have you join us for this fun event, and you can register here .
We are pleased to offer a new Book Club for Noar children in grades 2-5. Gail Simon, volunteer extraordinaire, will guide children in a reading of the book The Hungry Clothes and other Jewish Folktales. This club will meet on Sunday mornings before Noar from 9:00-9:30. Please fill out this form if your child would like to be part of this experience.
While there are only a few more weeks left of Noar, I want to take a moment to share some reminders. Please keep them in mind when preparing to come to Noar this week.
We love having your children at Noar and understand that, at times, they have other commitments on Sunday as well. Please remember that the early check out must be done before 11:30am.
At Noar, we want students to be focused on building relationships with their classmates and teachers and fully experiencing all that we have to offer. Phones and wearable technology can often be a barrier in fostering these connections. For this reason, all children will be asked to leave their phones or smart devices in the Noar closets during class. If you are not comfortable with this, please have your child leave them at home. If there are extenuating circumstances (i.e. if your child needs it for a medical purpose), please feel free to reach out to me.
Looking forward to seeing you this week, Shanna
