H.U.B. Leadership

H.U.B. stands for the Hebrew Hadracha U’kehillah v’Bina (Leadership-Community-Wisdom) and serves as our “hub” for teen learning and engagement for grades 7th–12th. Teens in H.U.B. are engaged in this three-pronged approach in continuing their Jewish journey at Temple Sinai. Through several opportunities offered, teens can take advantage of opportunities that allow them to step into leadership roles and build real skills for the future. Teens can participate as Madrichim, helping in our Noar program with students each Sunday, or join teen leadership boards to plan events for peers with our youth group.

Teens at Noar
Teens

(Grades 7 & 8)
Madrichim in Training (MIT) is an experience open to all 7th-8th graders. These small cohorts meet throughout the year to develop leadership skills as they serve as role models in Noar classrooms. From building relationships grounded in social emotional awareness to running carpool, MITs are an integral part of the Noar program where they gain experience in and out of the classroom.

Madrichim Teaching

(Grades 9-12)
Junior and Senior Madrichim is an experience open to all 9th-12th graders through an application process. These high school Madrichim learn to be future Jewish educators through assisting teachers with activities. In addition, they build relationships with students, especially children who need extra support. All high school Madrichim can receive community service hours for their Noar support or opt into receiving compensation.

Teens Leading Services

Temple Sinai’s Teen Leadership Boards are an opportunity for 7th-12th grade teens who want to actively shape the social experience of their peers. The 7th-8th Grade Advisory Committee as well as the 9th–12th Grade Teen Board work in collaboration with the Youth and Teen Engagement Managers. From brainstorming community events that are relevant and engaging to planning Camp Jenny Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction, these groups bring the youth group ideas to life.
