Erev Rosh HaShanah: Monday, September 22, 5:00 pm
Kol Nidre: Friday, Wednesday, October 1, 5:00 pm
Families with young children can welcome in 5786 with a service just for them. There will be songs, stories and dancing — the perfect way to celebrate the High Holy Days! Recommended for children ages 0-5, their siblings, and their grown-ups. Open to the community but tickets are required.
Reconsidered Services
Rosh HaShanah: Tuesday, September 23, 1:00 pm
Yom Kippur: Thursday, October 2, 1:30 pm
Although shorter, our more informal Reconsidered Services still capture the inspiring themes of the Holy Days and are designed to appeal to congregants of every age, particularly those with elementary school-aged children. Non-members may purchase two tickets for these services (one year only).
Youth Programs & Childcare
Morning Youth Programs (Ages 2 year old through 3rd grade)
Rosh HaShanah: Tuesday, September 23, 9:30-11:00 am
Yom Kippur: Thursday, October 2, 9:30-11:00 am
Youth Programs are available during our morning services on Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur for children ages 2-3rd grade. Our young learners will learn about the holidays through hands-on activities and have the opportunity to play while grown-ups are in services. Registration is required so that we can staff accordingly and closes one week before each holy day.
Registration for Rosh HaShanah is now closed. You may still sign up for Yom Kippur.
Teens
We invite and encourage teens to attend any of our High Holy Day services. This is a wonderful opportunity to discover which services are meaningful to you.
High School Madrichim in Youth Programs
High school teens in grades 9-12 are invited to apply to serve as one of our Madrichim (teaching assistants) in our youth programs. Please reach out to Youth & Teen Engagement Manager Sigal Khan at skahn@templesinaiatlanta.org with questions. Limited spots available and application required.
Family Tashlich Experience
Sunday, September 28, 10:00 am
Dunwoody Nature Center (weather permitting)
Bring on the new year with your entire family! Join us at the Dunwoody Nature Center for a morning of nature, play, and activities, including the opportunity to participate in tashlich. BYOB- Bring Your Own Birdseed! Everyone is welcome to join us and we especially recommend this outing for families with elementary-age children. Please register to attend.
While You Pray
Service Companions
Service companions and activity guides will be available in the main lobby at all services for children, preschool through 7th Grade, to follow along and remain engaged throughout services.
Family Room
A Family Room will be available during all services in the Children’s Library. Parents must accompany their children and there will be books, coloring pages, and games for kids. The service will be streamed.
“Take a Break” Space for Grades 4-8
Rosh HaShanah: Tuesday, September 23, opens at 10:00 am and closes at 11:30 am
Yom Kippur: Thursday, October 2, opens at 10:00 am and closes at 11:30 am
Beginning 30 minutes after the morning service begins, a classroom will be open for students in Grades 4-5 and the library will be open for students in Grades 6-8, who need a short break from services. Structured activities and games related to the holiday will be provided and supervised by our youth and teen staff.
Babies Born in 5785
On Rosh HaShanah, we honor all children and grandchildren born to a Temple Sinai family in 5785 (since last Rosh HaShanah, October 3rd, 2024).
Please submit your photo and the baby’s name. Photos should be sent in horizontal/landscape format.
