Get Involved This High Holy Day Season

At Temple Sinai, the High Holy Days are not only a time for reflection and renewal—but also a time to come together as a community. There are so many meaningful ways to get involved, give back and help make the Holy Days run smoothly for everyone. Whether you’re greeting guests as a Shammash, lending a hand behind the scenes or supporting our annual Food Drive, your time and energy help bring our shared values to life.

Wednesday, September 10
10:00 am-12:00 pm

They say it takes a village, and that it does when it comes to the High Holy Day preparations. Volunteer opportunities include: polishing the Torah ornaments and ritual silver, preparing bags and organizing supplies for the food drive, providing office support and preparing the building for the Holy Days. Please sign up and help get us ready!

It takes over 200 Shammashim (Greeters) to ensure all of our High Holy Day services run smoothly and safely, and we need your help! The support of our High Holy Day Shammashim is critical. Shammashim are responsible for checking e-tickets at the doors, directing congregants throughout the building, maintaining a pleasant decorum in our lobbies, helping congregants find seats, helping load and unload the satellite parking lot buses, and more.

Shammashim can reserve two seats in the sanctuary for the service at which they volunteer! To participate at one or more of our High Holy Day services, fill out our form and select the service(s) for which you wish to volunteer.
