Displayed prominently on the wall of our Temple Sinai lobby is a sculpture of a tree; the leaves emblazoned with names, dates and occasions of happiness and joy. Our Tree of Life is a significant marker of simchas that have occurred in the lives of Temple Sinai congregants – births, Bar and Bat Mitzvah ceremonies, engagements, weddings and anniversaries. Artist Timothy Sutherland designed the sculpture and, 30 years later, this unique work of art still embodies the spirit of our congregation – a pleasant and peaceful reminder of the joy, sacredness and community that defines Temple Sinai. As the tree branches grow and flourish, so too do the connections of our families to each other and to future generations.
