At Temple Sinai, we believe no one should go hungry while good food goes to waste. What began here in 2004 as a congregant-led social action project has grown into Second Helpings Atlanta, an independent nonprofit now serving the entire Metro Atlanta community. For nearly a decade, Sinai volunteers built the foundation by recruiting drivers, forging partnerships, and delivering nutritious meals to those in need. Today, more than 1,000 volunteers carry that vision forward, rescuing surplus food daily and redirecting it from landfills to hungry neighbors. We remain proud that this vital work was born within our congregation, a lasting reminder of the power of community to turn compassion into action.
