Immigration & Refugee Relief

Refugee Summer Camp

At Temple Sinai, our commitment to tikkun olam—repairing the world—extends far beyond our synagogue walls. Guided by Jewish values and powered by passionate volunteers, we support immigrants and refugees seeking safety, stability, and a new beginning. This work is among our most active and enduring initiatives, rooted in the belief that every person deserves dignity, compassion, and a place to call home.

Our Emergency Response Team mobilizes in times of need, providing critical aid to individuals and families impacted by global and local crises. From resettlement support to supplying essential resources, we act quickly to meet urgent humanitarian challenges. Our volunteers also collaborate with local partners to offer direct assistance, advocate for just policies, and build pathways toward long-term stability for refugee communities.

One of our most meaningful partnerships is with Friends of Refugees, an organization serving newcomers in Clarkston. Together, we provide hands-on support—from tutoring and mentoring to sponsoring summer programs for refugee children. We also work closely with the Afghan American Alliance of Georgia and New American Pathways, helping families access necessities and navigate their new lives with dignity and hope.

Through every effort, our congregation remains steadfast in the Jewish imperative to welcome the stranger. We are proud to be a community that shows up—with heart, purpose, and a deep commitment to healing the world.
