Community Assistance Center

CAC Food Drive

At Temple Sinai, we believe in caring for our neighbors by ensuring that no one in our community goes without the essentials. Through our partnership with the Community Assistance Center (CAC), we provide food, clothing, and support to families facing financial hardship. This initiative reflects our commitment to tikkun olam and ensures that struggling individuals have the resources they need to move forward with dignity and stability.

Temple Sinai volunteers staff the CAC Food Pantry on the third Saturday of each month, assisting with food distribution and ensuring families have access to nutritious meals. In addition, we support CAC’s Canopy Thrift Shop by donating gently used clothing, shoes, and home goods, which are provided to clients at no cost or sold to help fund emergency assistance programs. By offering both immediate relief and long-term support, we help create a stronger, more resilient community.

Additionally, each year, Temple Sinai members ‘adopt’ families through the Community Assistance Center’s Hope for the Holidays program, helping to bring joy and support during the holiday season.

Taking care of those in need is a shared responsibility, and Temple Sinai is proud to play a role in this vital work. Whether by volunteering a few hours, donating household essentials, or helping raise awareness, our congregation ensures that no family has to face hardship alone. Together, we are making a difference—one meal, one coat, and one act of kindness at a time.
