Please enter your name in the empty box above this.

Do you love working with younger children and want to be a role model for younger Jewish kids?
Do you want to gain new skills and develop new interests while earning community-service credit or money?
Do you want to forge new relationships with peers, clergy, staff, and the greater Temple Sinai Community?

Well, our Madrichim Leadership Program is for you!!!

What is the Madrichim Leadership Program?
The Madrichim Leadership program is designed for 7th-12th graders who are interested in gaining new skills, working as role models to younger students, and increasing students' knowledge of and connection to Judaism.  Teens have the opportunity to be a leader in our Noar Sunday program, gain new skills and develop new interests while earning community service hours or a paycheck. They will also forge new relationships with their peers, staff, and the greater Temple Sinai community.

The Madrichim program has three tiers, based on your grade level, and each with clear responsibilities, goals and skill development:

Madrichim-In-Training (7th/8th Graders)
Madrichim-in-training (MIT) is open to all 7th and 8th graders. The 7th grade cohort meets weekly during the first semester for leadership workshops and engages in opportunities to lead throughout their second semester.  The 8th grade cohort is made up of mature, responsible peers divided into small groups that spend time supporting and meeting with one another as they take on a stronger leadership role in classrooms.

Junior Madrichim (9th/10th Graders)
Junior Madrichim (Grades 9-10) are junior teen teaching assistants to Noar Sunday educators and serve as role models for Noar Sunday students, while learning valuable leadership skills!

Senior Madrichim (11th/12th Graders)
Teens in Grades 11-12 who apply and are accepted to the Senior Madrichim program will act as a teaching assistant to Noar educators. These teen leaders may lead small groups within their class, help plan and differentiate lessons, and help support kids’ needs. Senior Madrichim can participate in Noar Sunday and/or Noar Hebrew (additional Hebrew assessment required) as a volunteer or paid opportunity.

Requirements:
While this program is fun and very rewarding, it is a commitment! Because our teachers and students depend on you every week, you must make this a priority. There are several requirements for being Madrichim, including:
-- Consistent attendance
-- Participation in mandatory training sessions
-- Noar Hebrew Madrichim must have good Hebrew reading skills (Hebrew assessment is required).

Compensation:
As a sign of our appreciation for your valuable work, Madrichim in grades 7-12 are eligible to receive community service hours for their time. Other compensation options will be shared once your acceptance is confirmed in the Madrichim program.

When is the application deadline, and when will I know if I am accepted?
The deadline to apply is Friday, June 7. After all the applications are received, they will be reviewed, and we will reach out to set up a virtual interview with you. Upon receiving your application and completing your interview, an acceptance letter will be sent out officially welcoming you to the program! At that time, you will also receive more information about the mandatory Madrichim training sessions as well as a contract. Applications received after June 7 will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and placement options may be limited.
