We are delighted to share some exciting news: Rabbi Ron Segal has been cast in the role of the Rabbi in Alliance Theatre’s upcoming production of Fiddler on the Roof, running from September 4 through October 5.
This opportunity came as a complete surprise to him. While Ron was still abroad on our congregational trip to Greece, Rabbi Brad Levenberg secretly arranged for him to audition upon his return. With just a day or two to prepare, Ron embraced the challenge and shined. We are so proud to share that he was offered the role, and after thoughtful consideration and the enthusiastic support of his family, Sinai’s lay leadership, clergy team, and professional staff, he has accepted.
Ron has put in place a plan to ensure this artistic endeavor complements his sacred responsibilities at Sinai. We are confident that this unique opportunity will bring kavod (honor) and simcha (joy) to our community, and we believe many of you will find it meaningful to see one of our own bringing a beloved Jewish character to life on the professional stage.
In celebration, the Alliance Theatre has arranged a promo code good for a 15% discount on the price of tickets for the members of our community to use for themselves and their friends (no, they don’t need to be members of Sinai as long as they are going with you!) to any performance of Fiddler on the Roof during the run of the show. Prior to selecting your seats, look to the top right of the screen and, where prompted for the promo code, enter SINAI15.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Ron will not be involved with the performance on October 2 (following Yom Kippur).
We can’t wait to cheer on Rabbi Segal in Anatevka—and we hope to see many of you in the audience!
