Kindergarten Consecration Dinner & Service

Friday, October 25, 2024 23 Tishrei 5785

5:00 PM - 7:30 PMLarge Social Hall

Consecration is the Jewish lifecycle event that formally marks the start of a child’s Jewish education. All kindergarten students in Jewish Day School and Noar Sunday are included in this special celebration. As part of the Consecration ceremony, each student will receive his/her own Torah scroll. Prior to the ceremony, parents and children together will prepare for the Consecration ceremony by making their own arks to house their Torahs.

We will take a group Consecration photo that will hang in the hallway joining the chain of Consecration photos throughout the years. The photographer will also offer the option for professional family photos and individual shots of each child.

Part of the program will involve your child's Hebrew name. There is a space on the RSVP form to write in your child’s Hebrew name. If your child does not yet have a Hebrew name, one of Temple Sinai’s clergy will reach out to you about getting one and even offer a special naming opportunity prior to the Consecration ceremony.

If you would like to invite grandparents or other extended family or friends to join, please feel free to include them.

Cost to attend
Adults (ages 13+) $18.00 per person
Children (3-13) $12.00 per child
Children under 3 (FREE)

We are looking forward to sharing a very special and memorable evening with you and your family.  If you have any questions, please contact Shanna Wilons, swilons@templesinaiatlanta.org or 404-252-3073.

Kindergarten Consecration is a lifecycle ritual for our Sinai families. There will be a family workshop for the students and their families before the ceremony.

During the family workshop, families will have the option for their student to get an individual picture of them in front of the Torah with a phographer. We will also make arks for your Torahs and discover what it means to begin a Jewish education. We can't wait to see you there!

If your child does not yet have a Hebrew name and you would like them to have one, please write "contact me" below and one of our clergy will be in touch with you.
