Temple Sinai's Endowment Funds are established by donors in order to support a specific purpose.  These funds are structured so that the principal amount of the fund is held in perpetuity with up to 4% of the principal being distributed annually to provide support for Temple Sinai.  If you would like to make a donation to a fund please click here.  If you have questions about these funds, please call the Temple Sinai office at 404.252.3073.

General 

GENERAL ENDOWMENT FUND (1976) – To support general needs of Temple Sinai in the areas of new and special services, building enhancements, fixtures, equipment and programs.
50th ANNIVERSARY FUND (1992) – To support Temple Sinai programs in Jewish culture, Jewish education, personal and family needs, multi-generational Jewish life and liturgical arts, as well as resources for the enhancement of the building.
OPERATING ENHANCEMENT ENDOWMENT FUND (2011) - To provide resources for funding operating expenses at Temple Sinai, including member lifetime dues prepayments.
ARTHUR AND ELSYE HEYMAN ENDOWMENT FUND (2018) – To provide resources for the benefit of Temple Sinai’s programs, activities and operations.
TOBYANNE AND ARNOLD SIDMAN ENDOWMENT FUND (2019) - To provide resources for the benefit of Temple Sinai’s programs, activities and operations.

Cultural and Music

CANTOR SID GOTTLER MUSIC FUND (1990) – To support musical education at Temple Sinai and programs for Jewish life, including an annual cantorial concert.
JAN & WARREN EPSTEIN CULTURAL ART FUND (2006) – To enrich the membership of Temple Sinai through cultural and performing arts such as drama, music, and dance in support of programming with distinct Jewish and/or Israeli themes.
SHARON FAGIN AND GOLDIE VELINSKY MORRIS MUSIC ENRICHMENT FUND (2006) – To support Temple Sinai’s music program, including an annual event at Temple Sinai or concert of Jewish music, enhanced Temple Sinai music teachers, or materials and speakers.
ALAN & SANDYBECK LEASE VISUAL ARTS ENDOWMENT FUND (2008) – To provide visual arts programming by sponsoring photography or art shows, movie screenings and cultural arts education and purchasing art for Temple Sinai.  
GEORGE & INGE ROBBINS ENRICHMENT ENDOWMENT FUND (2009) – To provide resources for the benefit of Temple Sinai’s programs and activities associated with education and cultural/religious enrichment.
ARLENE AND BRUCE TURRY PROGRAMMING ENDOWMENT FUND (2009) – To provide resources for the benefit of Temple Sinai’s programs and activities associated with cultural events, music enrichment, education and programming.
WARREN JACOBS ENRICHMENT ENDOWMENT FUND (2011) – To benefit of Temple Sinai’s programs and activities associated with education and cultural/religious enrichment.  

Social Action & Kesher

SOPHIA AND IRVING HITE KESHER FUND (2000) – To provide programs in concert with the Temple Sinai Kesher Committee, including outreach to members in need of support due to family crisis, and other programs.
ELLEN AND PAUL GOLDSTEIN KESHER ENDOWMENT FUND (2017) – To provide resources for the benefit of Temple Sinai’s programs and activities associated with the Temple Kesher Committee or a comparable committee.
ROBIN AND ADAM MAYER SOCIAL ACTION ENDOWMENT FUND (2018) – To provide funds to support social justice and social action concepts and programs. 
CATHY AND ROBERT SINSHEIMER SOCIAL JUSTICE ENDOWMENT FUND (2018) – To provide funds for Temple Sinai programs to expand and support social justice awareness and action, including dealing with hunger and homelessness and refugee support.                   
PHYLLIS AND MARTIN ISENBERG CONGREGANT ASSISTANCE ENDOWMENT FUND (2018) – To provide resources for the benefit of Temple Sinai’s membership by providing assistance to members who are in financial need of support for activities of daily living.
BETH AND ED SUGARMAN ENVIRONMENTAL ENDOWMENT FUND (2020) – To provide resources to support the education and involvement of Temple Sinai members relating to the protection of the environment both locally and nationally.

FREEMAN FAMILY PRESCHOOL ENRICHMENT ENDOWMENT FUND (2019) – To provide resources to support education, programming, cultural/religious enrichment and technology enhancement for Temple Sinai Preschool students, including teacher training, new equipment, curricular resources, and student and teacher enrichment programs.
AARON, ILAN AND ETHAN BERMAN YOUTH ENDOWMENT FUND (2019) – To provide resources to enhance character development, empathy, understanding and tolerance of differences amongst the K-12th grade student population at Temple Sinai through appropriate educational and programming initiatives.
JOY AND ALAN GREENBERG RELIGIOUS & PRESCHOOL ENDOWMENT FUND (2019) – To provide resources to support planning, education, marketing, programming, cultural/religious enrichment and technology enhancement for Temple Sinai Religious School and Preschool students.
KERKER KIDS FAMILY ENDOWMENT FUND (2019) – To provide resources to support programs and experiences to honor graduating Temple Sinai high school seniors as well as promote Jewish continuity during their initial college years.

SAM CHYATTE MEMORIAL FUND (1980) – To support programs relating to medical ethics and medical science.
GERZON PARZEN HOLOCAUST FUND (1999) – To support programs in the study of the Holocaust.
SUSAN AND HOWARD ROTHMAN ADULT PROGRAM FUND (2000) – To support adult education programming, including programming for “empty nesters” and senior membership.
SUSAN AND JAY LEVITT OUTREACH FUND (2007) – To support outreach programs helping individuals, interfaith couples and families feel more comfortable in a synagogue setting.  
FRED A. ELLMAN MEMORIAL CULINARY ENRICHMENT ENDOWMENT FUND (2013) – To provide resources to foster and enhance membership through culinary experience programs and activities.
RONA AND BILL BALSER BOOK SERIES ENDOWMENT FUND (2016) – To help develop and enrich Temple Sinai by providing resources for the further development and organization of programs discussing books and films.
DEVILLE HOLOCAUST EDUCATION ENDOWMENT FUND (2016) – To help enrich Temple Sinai by providing resources for the learning and dialogue in the study of the Holocaust.

LILLIE JANKO TEMPLE SINAI EVENT ENHANCEMENT ENDOWMENT FUND (2018) – To provide resources for the inclusion of all members to participate in congregational events by supplementing the cost to attend.
GREENWALD FAMILY PARENTING ENDOWMENT FUND (2018) - To provide resources for the benefit of programs and activities associated with educating Temple Sinai parents on important issues relating to their children (infants to college-age children).  
LIPPMAN FAMILY YOUNG ADULT ENDOWMENT FUND (2018) – To provide resources in support of congregational programs, social experiences, membership initiatives, activities and education for Temple Sinai young adult members between the ages of 22-32.
BRIAN WARONKER MEMORIAL FUND FOR ADDICTION & RECOVERY (2018) – To provide resources to help ensure programs, education and emotional support associated with addition & recovery for Temple Sinai members of all ages.
MARK E. SILVERMAN MAIMONIDES AWARD ENDOWMENT FUND (2018) – To support a program for the discussion and presentation of relevant topics in medical treatment, research, history and education.
ZUCKER RELATIONAL COMMUNITY ENDOWMENT FUND (2019) – To provide resources to develop and enhance congregational experiences to help Temple Sinai families strengthen their connection with one another, including Brotherhood and Women of Sinai.
BOBBIE AND PETER SCHNEIDER YOUNG ADULT CAREER DEVELOPMENT FUND (2020) –To provide opportunities for Tempe Sinai young adults to engage in career development and networking with Jewish business leaders. 
IRVING B. SCHOENBERG LEADERSHIP, BUSINESS AND SERVICE TO COMMUNITY ENDOWMENT FUND (2021)  To enhance and enrich the congregational life of Temple Sinai by providing resources that support lectures, educational and other programming in the area of business leadership and ethics within a Jewish perspective.  
ZACHARY TOLCHIN MEMORIAL FUND TO SUPPORT CAREGIVERS (2024) – To provide resources for programs, education, and emotional support for Temple Sinai members who are caring for family members of all ages with significant health and/or mental illness challenges.

Scholarships

LOVENTHAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND (1993) – To support activities of Temple Sinai Jewish youth at camps, conventions and Israel trips sponsored by the Reform movement.
CANDY AND STEPHEN BERMAN LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT FUND (1999) – For programming in the area of adult leadership development, convention scholarships and volunteer activities of Temple Sinai members.
SHIRLEY NEMETH YOUTH CAMP OUTREACH FUND (1999) – To provide camp scholarships for economically disadvantaged children with preference for URJ and NFTY operated camps.
LINDA & DON HOROWITZ/REBECCA AND ISAAC MAY FUND (2002) – For camp scholarships with preference to Jewish camps in Georgia.
TAYLOR-GREENBERG FAMILY RELIGIOUS SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP FUND (2007) – To provide resources for scholarships to students of Temple Sinai members for Religious School tuition and expenses related to attendance on Religious School field trips. 
MERRILL AND SHEILA WYNNE FAMILY JUDAIC SCHOLARSHIP FUND (2015) – To provide resources for a Temple Sinai high school or college aged student to enhance their Jewish educational experience.
BRENDA AND MARK LICHTENSTEIN ISRAEL ENDOWMENT FUND (2018) – To provide funds for members high school and college students in traveling to Israel for Judaic programming and cultural/religious enrichment.
DRUCKER FAMILY CAMP BARNEY MEDINTZ SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FUND (2018) – To enrich the congregational experiences of Temple Sinai families by providing funds for their children to attend Camp Barney Medintz based upon financial need.
THE MAXINE AND RONALD ROSEN JEWISH DAY SCHOOL FUND (2020) – To provide scholarships and tuition support to children of Temple Sinai members who attend Jewish day schools.

GARY AND JACKIE METZEL SPIRITUALITY FUND (1990) – To enhance religious and spiritual growth of Temple Sinai members and programs in Jewish mysticism and spirituality.
MICHAEL ALEMBIK MEMORIAL FUND (1994) – To help and enrich the spirits and lives of Temple Sinai members through learning in the area of human relationships and healing.
LILLIAN WEINBERG TRANSPORTATION ENDOWMENT FUND (2004) – To fund transportation needs for Temple Sinai members to attend religious services, educational programs and other events sponsored by the Atlanta Jewish community.
YEAR OF TORAH ENDOWMENT FUND (2009) – To enrich Temple Sinai by providing resources for the benefit of Temple Sinai's programs and activities associated with learning and Torah.

ROSE AND MARVIN SUGARMAN LIBRARY FUND (1989) – To enhance, augment and enrich the Rabbi Philip N. Kranz Learning Center resources, library collections and programs at Temple Sinai.
DEITCH FAMILY LIBRARY RESOURCE FUND (2000) – To provide resources for the benefit of the Rabbi Philip N. Kranz Learning Center, including fixtures, equipment, programming, books or other means to augment the Learning Center services.
RABBI KRANZ INSTITUTE FOR JEWISH LEARNING FUND (2000) – To provide activities and resources for adult education materials, speakers, and other services, including an annual Institute for Jewish Learning.
STEVEN EICHEL JEWISH LAW LIBRARY ENDOWMENT FUND (2003) – To provide resources for the organization and benefit of the Temple Sinai Jewish Law Library.
FRED W. NICHOLS LIBRARY ENDOWMENT FUND (2011) – To enhance, augment and enrich the Rabbi Philip N. Kranz Learning Center resources, library collections and programs at Temple Sinai. 

Building Improvements

STANLEY AND SHIRLEY COHEN BUILDING & GROUNDS ENDOWMENT FUND (2002) – To enhance the beauty, nature and security of the environment within Temple Sinai’s building and grounds.
RONALD AND JUDY COHEN FACILITY IMPROVEMENT ENDOWMENT FUND (2019) – To enrich Temple Sinai by providing funds to ensure the major appliances and major systems (security, sound, HVAC, water, technology) within Temple Sinai are up to date.
THE ROBIN AND MARC POLLACK FAMILY ENDOWMENT FUND (2024) - To be established with the primary purpose of benefiting Temple Sinai and its members. The endowment will focus on supporting the arts, fostering art and horticultural education, and enhancing the landscaping of Temple Sinai's property. The funds allocated from this endowment will contribute to the enrichment of artistic endeavors within the Temple community, provide educational resources in the realms of art and horticulture, and contribute to the beautification and maintenance of Temple Sinai's grounds. The Robin & Marc Pollack Family Endowment is dedicated to fostering a vibrant and aesthetically pleasing environment that enhances the cultural and educational experiences for the members of Temple Sinai.
LAURIE AND ZACHARY SOLOMON TECHNOLOGY ENDOWMENT FUND (2019) – To help Temple Sinai remain a welcoming, comfortable and safe synagogue home for members and visitors alike by ensuring that technology used for both communication and/or security systems remains current and effective.
SWERDLIN FAMILY TEVA TRAIL ENDOWMENT FUND (2023) – To enrich Temple Sinai by providing resources for the benefit of the Temple Sinai’s Teva Trail.  Annual uses of the funds would include, but are not be limited to: maintenance and repair of the trail; addition of program enhancements and new equipment; expansion of the trail. 

Rabbinical/Clergy/Staff Support

THE BUNZL FAMILY CANTORIAL CHAIR (2013) – To provide financial support so that Temple Sinai is able to engage and benefit from a full-time Cantor.
RABBI RONALD M SEGAL ENDOWMENT FUND (2014) – To provide funds for projects championed by the Senior Rabbi of Temple Sinai that benefit the congregation, the congregation’s standing in the greater Atlanta community, or another cause aligned with the greater mission of the congregation and the Senior Rabbi.
CHARLES S. ACKERMAN ENDOWMENT FUND (2019) - To provide financial support so that Temple Sinai is able to engage and benefit from a full-time Director for the Center for Learning & Engagement (Education).
TEMPLE SINAI RABBINIC ENDOWMENT FUND (2024) - To support and sustain the dynamic leadership and stability of the Temple Sinai rabbinic team. The annual usage of the funds would be to support rabbinic salaries. The strength of this fund will help to ensure that Temple Sinai continues to enjoy the benefit of consistent rabbinic excellence.
VIKI & PAUL FREEMAN FAMILY RABBINIC ENDOWMENT FUND (2024) - To help perpetuate the continued strength and continuity of Temple Sinai’s rabbinic leadership. Resources generated from the Viki and Paul Freeman Rabbinic Endowment Fund shall be directed to the support of rabbinic compensation and to other rabbinic initiatives pursued for the betterment of the congregation.
