The Dead Sea Scrolls have represented one of archaeology's most intriguing mysteries since they were found in the 40’s and '50s in the caves around the Dead Sea. After many years of work, in 2018 the penultimate Scroll has finally been translated and decoded, exposing an ancient Jewish Calendar.
Archaeologists have spent many years putting together the pieces to try and understand what is written on these last 2 scrolls. According to Esbal Ratson, a scholar at the University of Haifa, “This is the most important archaeological find ever made in Israel. This is literature from the Second Temple period, and that's rare."
