Hope is a Choice

As we stand in these opening days of the new year, we find ourselves reflecting on the moments that shaped us in the past and looking toward the promise of what is to come. Jewish tradition teaches us that each year offers a new beginning, an opportunity for renewal and transformation. This moment is one of profound hope as we are reminded that no matter what challenges we’ve faced, to some degree, even if only in mindset and intentionality, the gift of a fresh start is within our grasp.
In this sacred time, we are called to remember that hope is not merely a wish for something better. It is an active choice—a choice to live with purpose, to seek out compassion, and to move forward with resolve. Hope is the anchor that keeps us steady in stormy times and the light that guides us in moments of uncertainty. At this moment we commit ourselves to finding that light, to nurturing it, and to sharing it with one another.
This year, let us embrace the possibility of growth and healing, both individually and as a community. Let us stand together, knowing that our collective strength is greater than the sum of our parts. In a world that often feels fractured, we have the power to build bridges, to uplift one another, and to create a space where all are welcomed, known, and valued.
As we enter this new year, let us hold on to hope, not as a passive prayer, but as a shared vision for a better future. Together, let’s make this year one where our lived experiences lap our boundless potential.
With hope and blessings for the year ahead,
Brad
