| Shomrei Adamah |

When God created Adam, God led him around the Garden of Eden and said to him: "Behold My works. See how wonderful and beautiful they are. All that I have created, for your sake did I create it. Now see to it that you do not spoil and destroy my world, for if you do, there will be no one to repair it after you." (Midrash, Kohelet Rabbah 7:13) Shomrei Adamah, Guardians of the Earth, is the Temple Sinai subcommittee on the Environment established by the Social Action Committee to address the environmental concerns of the congregation. As Jews, we have a responsibility to respect and care for God's creations in our daily actions and congregational operations. Shomrei Adamah is pursuing a two-track program of raising awareness of the Jewishness of living "green," and working with the synagogue to establish environmentally sound programs and policies to reduce the congregation's carbon footprint and improve sustainability.
