Religious/Hebrew School

Sundays: 9:30 am – 12:15 pm AND one of the Hebrew Options
We make Judaism come alive! Each Sunday, our fifth and sixth graders will explore different themes using interactive games, discussions, art, drama and more.

5th Grade - Lifecycle, Prayer & God
6th Grade - American Jewish History, Holocaust & Jewish Values

All of our students participate in music, art, camp, T'fillah (prayer services) as well as form connections to one another to foster friendships that will last a lifetime! Our teachers are fun, engaging, passionate, warm and excited to bond with our students and their families. They are trained to bring the classroom to life and connect to each student on a personal level.

We teach Hebrew through prayer and focus on decoding skills, synagogue participation skills as well as the meaning of the prayers.  We want our students to be able to lead and participate in prayer with their community, have an understanding of the prayers and be able to connect to them on a personal level.

Hebrew Options #1: Weekday Hebrew at Temple Sinai
Tuesday or Wednesday: 4:45-6:15 pm
Our students who attend this program meet at Temple Sinai in grade level classes.  There is an opportunity to build community with a larger group, participate in any all school programs and activities, and of course T’fillah (prayer service) with our clergy.  This experience provides a feeling of excitement and success as we learn and practice together as a community!!!

Hebrew Option #2: Hebrew Chavurah – NEW THIS YEAR!
Groups scheduled throughout the week after school!
Our Hebrew Chavurah program consists of small groups of 3-5 students who will meet weekly for Hebrew instruction in homes, community centers or even at Temple Sinai on Sundays after Religious school.  Students in the Hebrew Chavurah program will be placed in small groups based on grade, location, day and time and Hebrew levels (if possible).  Students in Hebrew Chavurah will get the benefit of small group instruction, forming connections and bonds with the other peers in their group and of course their teacher!

Hebrew Option #3: Private Tutoring
Scheduled on your own with a tutor
For families who choose not to be in either weekday Hebrew or Hebrew Chavurah, we offer the option of getting a private tutor.  It is up to the family to choose the tutor (from the approved tutor list) and set the schedule and cost.
